Job Summary: Reports to the Manager – DOT and Disabilities Compliance.
The student Co-op will be assigned to support Delta’s corporate DOT and Disabilities Compliance team regarding DOT regulatory programs.
These include, but are not limited to:
- Passenger Protections Regulations
- Air Carrier Access Act
The student Co-op will assist the Manager in developing, maintaining and implementing Delta’s DOT and Disabilities programs in accordance with regulatory requirements and generally-accepted standards of good practice. The successful candidate will be joining an established program focused on accessible travel and supporting customers with disabilities while partnering across Delta to ensure compliance with government regulations and IATA requirements. This position supports the development of corporate-level policies related to all aspects of the Air Carrier Access Act & Delta’s Customer Commitment and strategy to advance accessible travel for customers with disabilities.
This position is full-time (40 hours/week) for one semester each school year (i.e., Spring - 2025, Fall - 2025, and Summer, 2026), and the ideal candidate will be available for at least two years (3 rotations). The position is based on-site in Atlanta at Delta’s Corporate Headquarters.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Work experience is not required for this entry level position, but the successful applicant will be a sophomore or junior pursuing/majoring in (and excelling) a degree program in Aviation Management, or a related field of study and interested in advancing career experience through on the job training.
Applicants must be able to:
- Work with minimal supervision and direction
- Balance multiple assignments
- Handle confidential material appropriately
- Demonstrate strong technical written and oral communication skills
- Interact with internal and external, workgroups of all levels
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft applications including OneDrive, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Excel, and have experience with other applicable internet applications
- Function effectively in a fast-paced environment and short-notice situations
- NOTE: Some intermittent overnight domestic travel may be required.
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
