About the Job
BASIC FUNCTION: Assembles coils in preparation for expansion and brazing.
Identifies proper parts to complete assemblies by reading specification sheet.
Assembles parts to specification.
Builds frame; installs fins, tubes, hardware, and other purchased parts into coil body per specification
Correctly labels coils with build day and Mfg
Moves and repositions coils to the expansion area using cranes.
Completes appropriate paperwork to include quality sticker and daily hours.
Inspect coils for split collars, dented hairpins, and damaged fins.
Reworks or disassembles coils that have been damaged or built incorrectly.
Utilizes basic hand tools such as pliers, wrenches, and hand drills.
Trains new or existing employees, if necessary.
Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
Wears all required PPE.
Performs other routine duties.
Responsible for reporting work related injuries and near misses to supervision.
Responsible for wearing all required PPE and following applicable safety/environmental rules.
Responsible for correcting or reporting unsafe conditions observed within the plant.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos (i.e. safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, shop-floor paperwork, and procedure manuals).
Ability to write information from layout drawing to parts.
MATH ABILITY : Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
Ability to read a tape measure.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two-step instructions.
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS: No computer skills required.
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES: Forklift license required in some departments.
Must be able to obtain within three (3) months.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Those employees with forklift licenses will require distance vision.
