Cold Storage Production Worker - Spherion

The Cold Storage Production Worker will be responsible for handling, packaging, and preparing products in a cold storage environment, maintaining product quality, and adhering to safety standards. This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in low temperatures for extended periods.

Responsibilities:
Load, unload, and transfer products in and out of cold storage.
Work under the GMP Food Safety guidelines.
Inspect and ensure the quality of products, removing any damaged or defective items.
Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other equipment to move products as needed.
Assist with packaging products, labeling, and preparing them for shipment or further processing.
Follow detailed instructions for product specifications and packaging standards.
Monitor stock levels and assist in conducting regular inventory counts.
Ensure proper product rotation using First In, First Out (FIFO) method to minimize waste.
Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure workspaces are kept clean and organized.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
Maintain cold storage temperature logs and report any irregularities.
Work comfortably in a refrigerated or freezing environment (temperatures ranging from -20?F to 40?F).

Working hours: Various Shifts Available

Skills:
Prior experience in food production, cold storage, or a similar industry.
Knowledge of inventory management and FIFO and GMP principles.
Forklift certification is a plus.

Education:
High School

Experience:
1-4 years

Qualifications:
1+ years of experience in a production, warehouse, or cold storage environment.
Ability to operate warehouse machinery such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
Comfortable working in cold environments for extended periods.
Basic communication and teamwork skills.
