Collections Administration - Remote - Maximus

About the Job
Maximus is seeking a 100% remote Collections Admin to join the Federal Fin/Acct team to assist with the State Appeals, NJ Appeals and State Arbitration projects. The Admin's primary focus will be with collections by running reports, conducting outreach in large volumes via emails and/or phone calls and other reconciliations tasks.
To be successful in this role, candidates must have:
- finance/accounting background/experience
- understanding/experience with Accounts Receivable (A/R)
- advanced/strong excel skillset
- ability to work in high volume workload capacities
- comfortability with conducting outreach for collection type calls such as follow -
ups, status updates, obtaining payment information, etc.
- collection experience preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements, financial reports and accounts payable or receivable functions.
- Assist with any unidentified payment issues and with any other issues, questions, regarding invoices.
- Prepare, process and deliver invoices accordingly.
- Perform research into any payment objections and present them to leadership for determination of actionable steps.
- Examine returned mail and take action on resolutions to correspond accordingly.
- Perform research into any returned mail and ensure that any correspondence is resent timely.
- Prepare and validate financial reports.
- Reconcile information contained on internal and external reports and bank statements.
- Responsible for compiling amounts owed by the company to vendors, suppliers, organizations, and individuals.
- Gather purchase orders, charge slips, sales tickets etc, and prepares payments.
- Maintain all payment or other transaction records.
- Perform data entry and input for the lock box operation.
- Perform comparisons between data presented in various forms and input information into the accounting system.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment.
