Collections Representative - Ledgent Finance & Accounting

Expectations:

**Mid-Level**: 2-5 years of experience. At this stage, representatives are expected to handle more complex accounts and have a deeper understanding of collections processes and regulations.

A Collections Representative is responsible for managing and resolving outstanding accounts receivable from clients or customers. Your main duties typically include:

1. **Contacting Debtors**: Communicating with individuals or businesses that owe money to remind them of their obligations and arrange for payment.

2. **Negotiating Payment Plans**: Working out payment arrangements or plans with debtors to ensure that they can pay off their debt in a manageable way.

3. **Recording Transactions**: Keeping detailed records of interactions, payments received, and any changes in payment agreements.

4. **Investigating Discrepancies**: Reviewing accounts to resolve any billing issues or disputes.

5. **Reporting**: Preparing regular reports on the status of outstanding accounts and any progress made in collections.

6. **Compliance**: Ensuring that all collections activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.

7. **Customer Service**: Providing excellent customer service to maintain positive relationships with clients, even when dealing with overdue accounts.
