Renown Health and Renown Medical Group, Northern Nevada's largest and only not-for profit locally governed healthcare network, is hiring an academic minded, fellowship trained Colorectal Surgeon to join 2 well respected and experienced colorectal surgeons in the division of surgical oncology.
Join the Renown Medical Group Division of Surgical Oncology team practicing in the region’s busiest and established full-service cancer center (William N. Pennington Cancer Institute) and the only Level II Trauma Center serving a catchment area of over 900,000. The successful candidate will be a BE/BC general surgeon with fellowship training in Colon and Rectal surgery.
The candidate should expect to contribute to the success and continued growth within the division of Surgical Oncology and Colorectal Surgery. The call will be shared mainly within the department of Colorectal Surgery with support from the division of Surgical Oncology in a very busy acute care hospital system and supports the specialty surgery program.
The Division of Surgical Oncology has integrated support from Advance Practice Providers (APN and PAs) The candidate will be expected to participate in teaching of the students and residents from UNR medical school as part of Community Faculty for University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine, support the development of Colorectal specific clinical trials and research projects, work as partners within the division of surgical oncology, and support the overall strategy of Renown Health. The team will help achieve Rectal Cancer Center of Excellence for the William N. Pennington Cancer Institute and Renown Regional Medical Center and participate in the colorectal tumor board and Quality improvement meetings.
Fellowship training is a must.
A strong work ethic with a focus on quality and collegiality is mandatory.
The candidate will provide focused Colorectal Surgery services for patients in the community, work to elevate our established Surgical Oncology program, as well as, evaluate new patient consults and see follow up appointments in the Outpatient Clinic. Renown Regional is a state-of-the-art,700 bed acute care facility with comprehensive and outpatient services and 24-hour emergency care.
