About This Role
The Kansas Child Care Training Opportunities (KCCTO) team, within the College of Health and Human Sciences, is looking to hire a Communications and Marketing Assistant to join their team. This position will work on a statewide professional development program in the area of childcare and education, focusing on individuals and programs serving birth to 13 years. This position will be responsible for creating and managing content for social media platforms and newsletters and will assist in the planning and execution of marketing campaigns, including professional development events and vendor fairs.
This is a part-time, benefits-eligible position. The selected candidate will be expected to work approximately 20 hours per week.
About Us
Kansas Child Care Training Opportunities, Inc. (KCCTO) is a state-wide training office dedicated to providing quality, accessible, professional development opportunities to family childcare providers, childcare center staff, and other early education professionals throughout Kansas. KCCTO is a sponsored project of Kansas State University and the College of Health and Human Sciences. The mission of KCCTO is to ensure high-quality early education and care through professional development and support for those who work with and on behalf of young children. KCCTO is the current contracted agency by the Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF) for the Infant-Toddler Specialist Network and the Early Childhood Workforce Professional Development Program.
The College of Health and Human Sciences is home to six academic departments (Applied Human Sciences; Food, Nutrition, Dietetics & Health; Hospitality Management; Interior Design & Fashion Studies; Personal Financial Planning; and Kinesiology), the Center on Aging, Physician Assistant program, and a Nursing partnership with Wichita State University. The College enrolls more than 2,300 undergraduate and 400 graduate students and employs more than 115 full-time faculty members in teaching, research, and Extension positions (https://www.hhs.k-state.edu/). Worksite Option
This position is eligible for a remote worksite, but candidates are required to be located within Kansas. In-state travel will be required to support exhibitor set-up, represent KCCTO at events, and attend meetings. Out-of-state travel related to attendance at educational events for personal skill and professional developments may be required.

What You'll Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree
- One year of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field
- 5 years of experience in related field
- Experience with:
- Designing with Canva and Adobe products
- Email marketing platforms (i.e., Mailjet, MailChimp, Constant Contact)
- Social media management tools (i.e., Facebook Meta Hootsuite, Sprout Special)
- Web analytics tools (i.e., Google Analytics and website traffic)
- Microsoft Office Suite and survey tools (i.e., Qualtics)
- Basic SEO tools, PPC advertising platforms, and Word Press websites
- Campaign management and planning experience
