Department Summary:Infrastructure Services provides flexible, reliable, and secure traditional and cloud infrastructure services (network services, platform services, data center operations and management, and unified communications) enabling connectivity, productivity, and security for UCLA. Infrastructure services strives to optimize performance increasing storage, elevating the network, and reducing downtown.Network and Engineering Services manages the engineering and operations of the network infrastructure (e.g., wired/WAN, wireless, security/firewall) required to offer network connectivity, such as network cabling, routers, and firewalls. This includes connecting devices (e.g., Internet of Things devices) to the network, network access management, securing access to networks, and appropriate authentication (e.g., network registration systems, VPN, and NAC).Position Summary:
The Manager, Network Engineering (Wireless) will lead and manage a team of engineers dedicated to the design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of the university's wireless network infrastructure. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring high-performance and secure wireless connectivity across the campus. The Manager will develop and implement strategies for wireless network improvements, work in close collaboration with the Director of Network Services to ensure alignment with university-wide networking strategies, and ensure compliance with industry best practices, ITS, and university policies, processes, and procedures. Additionally, this role will oversee the resolution of complex technical issues, provide mentorship and training to the team, and facilitate collaboration with other ITS teams and stakeholders. This individual will leverage their deep understanding of wireless technologies, excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills to lead this team.

Five years experience working in one or more of the following fields: network services, information technology, network operations, or a related field. The anticipated pay range for this position is $140,689-$156,320, annually; salary is dependent upon the skills and experience of the selected finalist.
