Overall Responsibility 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to manage the estimation process for major Commercial construction projects. You will be responsible for providing support to the company in the capacity of a senior estimator for commercial projects ranging from <$150K to $50MM. The ideal candidate will have experience successfully estimating projects for a commercial general contractor or subcontractor. 

The Commercial Construction Estimator will utilize his/her expertise to help secure work with current and new clients. He/She will deliver contract proposal estimates, post-award purchase orders and subcontracts on a wide variety of commercial new construction, renovation, and Individual trade projects. 

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

1. Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for various project types primarily focused on the working document / competitive bid stage.
2. Obtain all necessary information from the design firms, owner reps, and consultants to complete the estimate.
3. Conduct site tours and surveys to determine existing conditions.
4. Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors and provide follow up contact with them on specific ITB/RFP solicitations to obtain bid coverage.
5. Verify unit cost pricing for each trade through historical data and/or vendor contacts.
6. Check local markets for workforce and material availability and lead times.
7. Review, quantify, and price cost savings/value engineering opportunities.
8. Analyze and compare bids in respective trades and compare with projected budget costs. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must have 6-8 years of experience estimating for a general contractor on projects ranging from $250k-$50MM 
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
• Understanding of construction means and methods is required to visualize all related trade items. 
• Proficient understanding of PC based applications such as Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam or other preferred software that will be provided by the company.
• Attend pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work 
• Ability to communicate with all participants involved in the estimating process. Must be a team player but also work independently 
• Skilled at working on multiple projects at one time while meeting the client's schedule of deliverables. 
• Architectural, engineering, or construction course work and/or degree preferred
• Proven experience in construction estimating and project management.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy of information

Salary & Benefits: $65,000-$150,000 In the form of a base Salary based upon experience and qualifications in addition to commission on awarded and completed projects.
