Job Summary
A Superintendent manages the day-to-day operations of a project site; plans, directs and coordinates construction activities; and oversees the project’s organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation.
General Accountabilities
- Planning, scheduling, and coordinating daily construction project activities to determine appropriate construction methods and the cost-effectiveness of such plans and methods, and to meet progress deadlines.
- Preparing budget estimates, progress reports and cost tracking reports.
- Conferring with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or construction issues.
- Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and cleanliness; Ensure that specifications are met.
- Read specifications, and blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.
- Estimate material or worker requirements to complete jobs.
- Supervise, coordinate, or schedule the activities of construction workers and laborers.
- Order or requisition materials or supplies.
- Locate, measure, and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment, using measuring and marking equipment.
- Record Daily Report information such as personnel, production, or operational data and upload data in Procore.
- Assign work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs.
- Review project activity with Project Manager bi-monthly or as required
- Actively participate with the development of the project schedule with the Estimator and Project Manager
- Create a pre-punch list with the Project Manager to be completed prior to Owner’s punch list using Procore to maintain company policy of only One Punch List System. Verify all Punch List items are completed on time and closed out on Procore
- Make certain all proper signage is on project at all times
- Make certain that Company Safety and Health Standard Operating Procedures and Personnel Protective Equipment requirements are being met
- Overseeing craft work, such as painting, plumbing or HVAC.
- Interpreting and explaining plans and contract terms to representatives of the property owner or developer, including administrative staff, workers or clients. Generate RFIs and send to Project Manager.
- Inspecting projects to monitor compliance with environmental regulations, safety regulations, building codes and other safety-related regulations. Documenting all activities and communication daily.

Job Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Five (5) years of superintendent experience in the construction industry with a commercial general contractor.
