Superintendent, Commercial Construction (Local, Indianapolis)
Our client is a leading construction firm specializing in commercial projects of significant scale and complexity. With a proven track record of delivering high-quality results within budget and on schedule, they are committed to excellence and innovation in the construction industry.
5+ years of experience overseeing ground-up projects in K12, Higher Education, Healthcare or large Industrial. Project scope $20M-$60M+.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
- Lead and coordinate all construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Quality Control:
- Implement and enforce quality control and safety measures on the construction site.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Team Leadership:
- Manage and lead on-site construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to site personnel, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Communication:
- Maintain open and transparent communication with project stakeholders, addressing concerns and providing regular updates.
- Collaborate with project managers to report project status, identify issues, and propose solutions.
- Problem Solving:
- Identify and resolve construction issues and challenges in a timely manner.
- Anticipate potential problems and proactively implement solutions to minimize project delays.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent on large-scale projects.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial construction processes, codes, and standards.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent project management abilities, including scheduling and budgeting.
- Proficient in using construction management software.
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification is preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, wonderful to have but not required.
