About the Job
The Loan Documentation Processor works directly with the Commercial and Retail Lending teams to prepare and review loan documents for new loans and modifications in accordance with the Bank's loan approval guidelines for various loan types.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Examining, interpreting, and preparing required documentation within specified guidelines for new commercial, retail and/or residential loans and modifications. Meet deadlines established by lender and/or manager.
- Ensuring loans are properly approved, policy/procedures are followed (ie proper appraisal and environmental reports are ordered) and documents match the approval.
- Performing pre-closing duties including but not limited to issuing instructions to title insurance companies and/or attorneys for loan closing and determining and itemizing costs to be collected from borrowers.
- Performing post-closing duties, including but not limited to reviewing loan documents for accuracy and completeness and tracking pending items.
- Determining and assigning proper codes for loans on the core system to ensure proper reporting.
- Examining, interpreting and preparing required documentation for line renewals and loan modifications, ensuring accurate changes on the core system.
- Index documents to the imaging system and ensure completeness of the electronic files.
- Assisting in the ongoing preparation and reconcilement of various reports and general ledger accounts assigned to the department.
- Completing assigned compliance training in a timely manner and demonstrate the ability to apply training to their duties and responsibilities.
- Assuming other job-related duties as requested.
REQUIRED TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous lending department experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- The ability to work independently as well as with a team.
- Interpersonal skills to represent the Bank in a positive manner when interacting with both internal and external customers
PREFERRED TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- Working knowledge of Laser Pro and MeridianLink Mortgage/IDS documentation software.
- Previous experience in loan documentation or the Commercial Lending field
