Commercial Director
Location: Denver, CO
Responsibilities: This person will be developing relationships with decision makers at pipeline, terminal, port/airport, and real estate customers and solving commercial challenges in BD and M&A. They will execute stakeholder engagements including advisory board, equity sponsor, key service providers and capital partners and establish a commercial process to meet strategic plans and manage market risk via long term agreements with ratable volume commitments.
- Commercial and Business Development Practices
- Build relationships within the aviation and petroleum marketing space
- Continue to build company brand via customer involvement, trade shows/presentations
- Present transparent and creative, customer-centered and vertically integrated solutions to the market
- Seek out M&A in the market, through relationships with peer companies and financial institutions
- Regularly evaluate the North American aviation market for areas with capital or infrastructure needs for greenfield or brownfield growth opportunities
- Work with current customer base to understand their evolving needs for organic growth within the existing asset base
- Prepare and present economic screening and scoping analysis for EBITDA, IRR, NPV and ROCE to help prioritize efforts around profitability, probability and timing.
- Reporting, Budgeting and Revenue Forecasting
- Develop and deliver monthly revenue forecasting updates and budget variance commentary in conjunction with CFO to provide a regular pulse on the market
- Work with management team to develop annual budgets and assist in timely execution of plan
- Maintain connectivity to the world marketplace to understand global and regional economic drivers and customer risks
- Strategic Execution
- In conjunction with the executive team and advisory board, develop and maintain a long-term strategic plan focusing on driving and increasing value
- Provide ongoing input and commercial analysis and risks to the executive team and board regarding organic and M&A strategies
- Be a key member in the execution, integration and subsequent analysis of organic and M&A projects
Requirements:
- 5-10 years’ experience in a commercial capacity in either the aviation space, or in a liquids-focused midstream business development role
- Liquid pipeline commercial business development experience needed
- Aviation exposure strongly preferred
- Financial analysis experience required
- Must be a go-getter and entrepreneurial minded to be proactive and get out in front of customers
- Exposure to reading, negotiating, working on commercial agreements a plus
- Established relationships with decision makers at pipeline, terminal, port/airport, and real estate customers around the country needed
