Insurance Sales Development Representative Job Description
Come join Coverdash’s Commercial Risk Unit! As a Commercial Insurance Account Executive, you’ll help build and manage small and mid-commercial accounts, quote and rate new business leads, help scale a team of in-house insurance producers, manage customer insurance needs with support from in-house customer success associates, while becoming a small mid-commercial insurance expert.
We are in a rapid build-out phase and are deploying new software to production daily, so our ideal candidate is someone who can thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. You will work closely with our technical teams, operating as the insurance subject matter expert, helping review processes and systems to build technology that efficiently and effectively meets the needs of the P C commercial insurance industry in today’s digitized world. You should feel comfortable working autonomously, helping create new products, and meeting the insurance needs of insureds.
Coverdash is a Virtual First Workplace with an office location in NYC. This role can be based anywhere in the U.S as long as you can work our Coverdash core collaboration hours (9:00 am-5:00 pm Eastern Time).
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
P C Commercial insurance sales and service
Independently manage client relationships and accounts up to $20MM in volume revenue
Develop, analyze, and implement competitive insurance programs, providing various alternatives for client consideration. Prepare, market, quote rates for renewals and new business
Act as primary client point of contact to provide day-to-day service by responding to client questions and requests
Growing a profitable book of business with strategic placement of business
Insurance customer success, account management, or sales
Support new business by following up on leads in a timely manner and supporting producers with quoting, binding, and issuing policies
Compile and organize all client information necessary to process new, renewal, cancellation and endorsements
Perform database file management and input information. Accurately manage and maintain documents in agency management systems
Building relationship with commercial underwriters
Qualifications
3+ years of P C commercial sales or brokerage experience
Property and Casualty insurance experience required
Active P C license in good standing
Excellent communication skills: written, public speaking and presentation preparation
Excellent telephone etiquette, customer service skills, professionalism and tact
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and its more complex features
Ability to be resourceful, take initiative, solve problems and offer solutions
Works well with others in a fast-paced environment and be responsive to co-workers and colleagues. Ability to train, delegate, provide oversight, and give feedback
Excellent time management skills
Ability to learn and adopt and train use of technology systems and software applications
Intermediate project planning and management
Bachelor’s Degree or related field or equivalent work experience
Experience working with CRM/AMS and comparative rating platforms
Prior insurtech or startup work experience a plus
The pay range for this role is: $100,000 to $130,000 per year, including on target commission / variable pay.
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry and are one part of our total compensation package that also includes benefits and other perks. We also include stock options in all compensation packages and believe all Coverdash employees should have the opportunity to become owners in the company.
Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skill set, location, and business need. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
