Job Details
The Commercial Lines Account Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial insurance accounts, ensuring clients receive excellent service and coverage that meets their business needs. This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, insurance carriers, and underwriters, as well as overseeing the daily account management activities. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of commercial insurance products, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their insurance needs and inquiries.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure high levels of satisfaction and retention.
Conduct regular reviews of clients' insurance programs to ensure they are adequately covered.
Policy Management:
Manage the renewal process for commercial lines policies, including preparing quotes, reviewing coverage options, and negotiating terms with underwriters.
Process new and renewal policies, endorsements, cancellations, and other policy changes.
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of policies, certificates, and other documents to clients.
Claims Management:
Assist clients with filing claims, providing guidance throughout the claims process.
Coordinate with claims adjusters and other relevant parties to ensure claims are resolved efficiently.
Risk Assessment and Analysis:
Analyze clients’ risk exposures and recommend appropriate insurance products and coverage options.
Stay informed on industry trends and market conditions to advise clients on emerging risks and new products.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with producers, underwriters, and other internal teams to ensure a seamless client experience.
Assist in training and mentoring junior account managers or support staff as needed.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in the agency management system.
Prepare reports and documentation as required by management.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field a plus.
Relevant insurance licenses (e.g., Property & Casualty license) are required.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial lines insurance, with a focus on account management.
Experience with agency management systems and insurance software.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products and coverages.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
