Job Details
A well-established law firm in New York is seeking a talented and motivated Commercial Litigation Associate to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in commercial litigation and a strong academic background.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial and appeal
- Conduct legal research and analysis on complex commercial issues
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
- Participate in discovery, including document review, drafting and responding to requests, and preparing for depositions
- Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing witness testimony
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and client meetings
- Manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously
- Collaborate with partners and other associates on case strategy and client communications
- Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents
Requirements:
- J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials
- 2-5 years of experience in commercial litigation at a reputable law firm
- Admission to the New York State Bar
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software
- Experience with e-discovery platforms is a plus
