The Position:
Our client is seeking to fill a Commercial Loan Assistant role in the Elk Grove Village, IL market. This selected candidate will be responsible for processing loan files, creating loan documents, and interacting with outside vendors to order appraisals, title work, track insurance, and obtain various standard reports or supporting documentation.
The position includes a salary of up to $55K and an excellent benefits package. (This is not a remote position)
Commercial Loan Assistant responsibilities include:
- Providing clerical support to Commercial Loan Officers in a fast-paced office.
- Processing files from application to closing. Ensuring all loan documentation is complete, accurate, verified, and that it complies with the bank policies and state and federal regulations and policies.
- Preparing commercial loan documents and files within specified time limits to meet all crucial deadlines.
- Ordering, gathering, and verifying background information on loan applicants and their businesses by conducting follow-up applicant interviews, obtaining credit bureau reports, business income statements, appraisals, title insurance, and other necessary verification documentation.
- Interviewing customer loan applicants to gather basic information concerning their business loan needs.
- Performing loan transactions efficiently, accurately, and in a professional manner while providing quality customer service focused on building strong business relationships.
- Tracking insurance, taxes (real estate), and borrower financial information ensuring continued compliance with all loan requirements.
- Calculating loan payoffs, processing interest payments and when the loan is paid, terminating collateral liens or holds.
- Providing a backup point of contact for the Vice President of Commercial Lending, Commercial Credit Analyst, and Collections when they are unavailable.
- Assuming other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

You also bring the following skills and experience:
- An associate degree in a related field of study is preferred.
- Three or more years of banking experience in a commercial loan department performing duties directly related to loan preparation, processing, and completion is strongly preferred.
- Experience with loan document processing software is required. Laser Pro experience is preferred.
- High level of customer relation and interpersonal skills (verbal and written), tact, and integrity due to regular exposure to confidential business and personal customer financial information.
- Skills should include typing, PC, knowledge of Microsoft Office products, and the ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Excellent organizational, and multi-tasking skills and ability to work with constant interruptions.
- Must have good time management skills, be task-oriented, and be comfortable working independently.
- Must be able to process information quickly while maintaining quality by paying great attention to detail.
