About the Job
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Loan Officer to join our growing company. In this position, you will evaluate and seek approval for quality loan applications that meet our standards as defined in our Loan Policy. You will act as a liaison between borrowers and the bank as well as process and underwrite loan applications, seek and develop new customer relationships, and maintain a portfolio of customer relationships. The ideal candidate for this role will be highly proficient in underwriting and processing HELOCs and other personal loan products from application to closing.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Engage with customers to determine loan needs
- Interview loan applicants
- Collect and process loan applications and documentation
- Evaluate credit and analyze financial documentation
- Advise clients on loan policies and restrictions
- Prepare loan proposals for credit approval
- Coordinate with internal team members and third-party vendors to complete closing due diligence and meet scheduled closing dates
- Maintain and update client account records
- Monitor and manage existing customer portfolio
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal laws
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related field preferred
- Mortgage loan officers must be licensed as mortgage loan originators (MLO)
- State loan officer license from the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS)
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal loan regulations
- Comprehensive understanding of all Consumer Lending regulations and disclosure timelines and requirements
- Strict adherence to company financial policies and processes
- Experienced at compiling and following policies and processes
- Able to analyze financial records and transfer data
- Able to work effectively with other teams within the bank
