Commercial Plumber's Apprentice - James Lane Air Conditioning and Plumbing

James Lane Air Conditioning Co., LLC, a Fidelity Company in Wichita Falls, TX, is looking for a Plumber's Apprentice to join our growing team!

A Plumber's Apprentice will assist the Plumbers. Duties will include assisting in fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of plumbing and fire protection systems. The duties will be performed in a commercial/construction setting.

An ideal candidate will have general mechanical experience, adaptability in a fast-paced work environment, and demonstrate a willingness to train and learn aspects of plumbing. They will be able to prioritize, close attention to detail, and maintain a high level of customer service, responsiveness, and professional business acumen.

Primary Duties:

• Follow defined plumbing procedures for assembly, installation, and repair per instructions of the Lead Plumber.
• Assist in the installation, alteration and repair of plumbing & fire protection systems.
• Assist in planning and coordinating tasks and material amounts required for completion of work.
• Assist in planning and preparing equipment and tools necessary for the performance of work.
• Assist in maintaining material stock levels in vehicles as well as keeping vehicles clean and organized.
• Clean equipment and work area upon completion of work.
• Provide information to Special Projects' staff to keep jobs organized and customers informed of progress.

Qualifications:

• One or more years of general mechanical experience with the willingness to learn and receive training.
• Ability to follow and perform installation procedures and troubleshoot problems.
• Ability to braze/solder/weld and perform minor field fabrication.
• Ability to safely use ladders in the performance of job duties including climbing and descending from a ladder.
• Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
• Ability to use a tape measure, to cut, and drill holes.
• Demonstration of proper and safe use of tools, related equipment, and personal protection equipment.
• Always maintain a professional attitude.
