The Contractor Consultants is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Plumbing Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates for commercial plumbing projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project plans. This role requires strong attention to detail, a thorough understanding of plumbing systems, and the ability to provide timely and accurate estimates. - Review project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to prepare accurate plumbing estimates for commercial projects.
- Analyze labor, materials, and time requirements to create comprehensive cost estimates.
- Develop detailed bid proposals for commercial plumbing projects and present them to clients.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and engineers to ensure all project requirements are clearly understood.
- Obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive bids.
- Track project changes and adjust estimates as needed, ensuring the company remains within budget.
- Maintain a database of historical data and pricing information for future reference.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-bid review meetings.
- Ensure all estimates are completed on time and in line with company policies and procedures.
- Provide support to the project team during the project execution phase to ensure cost controls are maintained.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in plumbing estimating, preferably in commercial projects.
- Experience with plumbing estimating software tools and current technology.
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems, materials, and installation methods.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, project specifications, and contracts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
- Familiarity with local plumbing codes and regulations.
- Experience with Electronic Takeoff software
