ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Commercial Salesperson will be responsible for selling new and retreaded tires and related products within the industries that East Bay Tire services. You are responsible for providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers, developing new business, prospecting within their territory, providing support to customers and clients, and developing lasting relationships. You will need to be driven and want to grow not only your sales but your knowledge within the tire industry. You will need to be organized, professional, and energetic while communicating in a manner that shows your expertise of the industry and the products. Through training you will develop an in-depth knowledge of the company's products and services.
DUTIES INCLUDE
- Active participation in East Bay Tire's Safety program to maintain a healthy and injury free environment
- Participate in training and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth
- Responsible for selling, promoting, and providing customer support on tires, tubes, foam fill and related services and equipment, and mechanical service
- Office duties include maintaining logs, reports, answering calls, and assisting in customers with tire sales, service, equipment, or mechanical needs
- Attend required meetings and trainings to further knowledge in industry
- Solicit new prospects within designated territory or geographical area
- Attain sales target with focus on target market segments
- Manage current customers accounts
- Travel withing your territory to visit customers or deliver tires if/when needed
- Ensure prompt resolutions of tire adjustments or any issues to ensure customers' needs are handled appropriately
- Provide valuable consultancy to customers and clients to improve service quality and operation management
- Assist in marketing and collateral to general new leads
- Provide a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, including but not limited to, light and heavy lifting, standing, sitting, bending, squatting, and driving. This can include the pushing, pulling, twisting of commercial tires and wheels
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of products and services to provide accurate information to customers
- Adherence to company and safety policies and procedures
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have at least 2 years' experience working in sales and customer service within the tire, agriculture, construction, automotive or related industries
- Associates Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred. High School Diploma/GED required.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
- Must have a strong commitment to achieving goals with a teamwork mentality
- Must have great communication/interpersonal skills with employees, customers, and departments
- Must be motivated with a good business sense and understanding
- Must have good decision making/judgment skills
- Must be extremely organized, detail orientated.
- Must be a team player, with the initiative and ability to do what it takes to get the job done
- Computer skills with a variety of programs including Excel, Outlook, and various other computer systems
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Must be a self-starter, be willing to take initiative and willing to work without direct supervision
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds as required for the job
- Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, and work independently on tight deadlines with multiple priorities
- Meet insurance requirements per the EBT Drivers Policy program, once hired
- Clean MVR

- This position will work out of East Bay Tire's San Jose location.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to:
- Work in an environment where there can be medium to loud noise
- Routinely use computer equipment including monitors, keyboards, etc.
- Frequently sit and stand to perform work, visit offices, attend meetings, and put supplies away, pack boxes or put materials together
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds
- Work flexible/varying schedule to support the team, customers, and deadlines
