Commissioned Armed Security Guard - Asset Protection and Security

Commissioned Armed Security Guard Requirements: All commissioned armed security guards

utilized shall meet the following requirements:

i. Must be over 21 years of age.

ii. High school graduate or hold a GED certificate.

iii. Possess a valid State of Texas driver’s license.

iv. Lawful resident of the United States and have the appropriate work authorizations.

v. Must have a valid armed commissioned security guard license issued by the Texas

Department of Public Safety (Private Security Bureau).

vi. Successfully completed the State of Texas approved Level II and III Training Courses

and Test.

vii. Possess the required permits and directive to carry any weapon or firearm.

viii. Trained and licensed armed security guard with at least one (1) year professional

experience as a security guard, or one (1) year experience in a branch of law enforcement

or other type of protective service.

ix. Physically and mentally able to perform duties according to the specification

requirements.

x. Pass a criminal and employment background check, drug test, and alcohol test.

xi. Not have been arrested or currently charged with, or under indictment for, a felony, Class

A misdemeanor, or a Class B misdemeanor.

xii. Not have been found by a court to be incompetent by reason of a mental defect or disease

and not have been restored to competency.

xiii. Qualified applicants will be considered without regard to their race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
