Overview:
We are looking for a creative and results-oriented Communication & Engagement Specialist to join our Informatics department. The role will involve various responsibilities, including managing executive communications, overseeing marketing initiatives, coordinating events, and providing support for graphic design and branding. This position requires an individual who is highly collaborative, adaptable, and able to work independently to achieve goals.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Executive Communications: Collaborate with Domain and Chapter Leads to craft key messages for internal and external communications.
- gWiz Portal: Maintain and update the iGNE gWiz portal with relevant and up-to-date information.
- Marketing: Manage surveys, email campaigns (Mailchimp), reminder emails, digital posters, and signage.
- iGNE Podcast: Support site initiatives and podcast activities.
- Branding Packages: Organize and distribute branding materials and packages.
- Offsite and Event Coordination: Manage logistics for events and offsite activities as assigned.
- Draft Communications: Demonstrate creative ingenuity in drafting clear and effective communications.
- Logistical Support: Provide logistical assistance for projects and events as required.
- Graphic Design: Design creative and visually appealing presentations and materials.
SKILLS & PRACTICES
- Electronic Communication: Ability to respond to email requests within 24 hours, utilizing the "out of office" feature when unavailable.
- Written Communication: Skilled in writing and editing documentation, determining actions needed to execute communication plans.
- Oral Communication: Effective in communicating in English and other languages as needed.
- Mobile Phone: Basic proficiency in mobile phone functions and communication.
- Documents (Google Suite): Advanced skills in navigating and utilizing Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, etc.).
- Presentations (Google Slides): Advanced ability to create and edit presentations using Google Slides.
- Spreadsheets (Google Sheets): Basic proficiency in creating and managing spreadsheets.
- Technology: Comfortable using a computer and navigating the internet effectively.
- Excellence: Promotes excellence across all disciplines and responsibilities.
- Teamwork: Encourages and affirms team members and explores cross-training opportunities to learn new skills.
Job Accountabilities:
- Accept meeting invitations and actively participate in discussions.
- Provide back-up support when needed.

- Submit receipts for pcard usage in a timely manner.
- Report time off requests and manage attendance.
- Adhere to working hours and company policies.
- Comply with other relevant requirements as assigned.
Other Requirements:
- 5+ years of general office experience.
- 2+ years of marketing and communications experience, or a Bachelor s degree in a related field.
