**Job Description**
AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Communication System Engineer to join our growing team, working on significant transportation and infrastructure projects. The selected candidate will design, implement, and manage communication systems, ensuring seamless integration with other technical disciplines, and adherence to project requirements.
JOB Responsibilities:
+ Develop and review detailed designs for communication systems such as IP backbone networks, fiber optics, CCTV, telephony, public address systems, intrusion and access control, Help Points (wired and wireless), LAN infrastructure, Distributed Antenna Systems and fire alarm systems. Provide feedback and coordinate with design teams to resolve technical issues
+ Oversee and manage the installation of electrical and communication systems on-site, including Public Address/Customer Information Screens (PA/CIS), CCTV, Help Points (wired and wireless), Fire Alarm Systems, LAN infrastructure, and Distributed Antenna Systems. Ensure all systems are installed according to the project schedule and specifications
+ Provide value engineering on communications systems related issues saving costs and schedule
+ Lead the testing and commissioning of electrical and communication systems. Ensure that all systems are fully functional and meet performance criteria. Identify and resolve any deficiencies or issues discovered during the testing phase
+ Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met. Provide regular field reports, highlight progress, and identify any potential challenges in the field
+ Ensure all work adheres to company and industry standards, as well as local and national electrical codes. Monitor and maintain high-quality work throughout the project lifecycle
+ Assist in the project closeout process by ensuring that all final documentation, including as-built drawings, test results, and commissioning reports, is accurate and complete
+ Participate in project pursuit efforts
+ Provide guidance and mentorship to junior personnel as part of team development
+ Under limited supervision, conducts work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria
+ Is fully competent in most aspects of the job
+ Works on projects of substantial complexity
+ May assume lead responsibilities for a team of engineers and professional support personnel
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Reqirements:**
+ Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
+ Transit and Transportation Experience
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 5 years or more of experience in rail and transit systems.
+ Professional Engineer License is preferred, but not required.
+ Master’s degree in communication/electrical engineering or related discipline is preferred, but not required
+ Experience with transit systems in North America. Experience in Owner’s Engineer role
+ Working knowledge of codes and standards applicable to rail projects.
+ Accustomed to operating within a multi-disciplinary project structure with responsibility for Communications sub-systems design
+ Self-motivated and able to work with limited direct supervision
+ Able to lead discussions with senior project staff, partners, clients and suppliers.
+ Able to multitask due to concurrent projects
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $120,000.00 - $180,000.00.
