Job Summary:
The Communications Manager will coordinate communications, public relations, and media relations for all non-tenant team-related events. The role is expected to work cross-functionally with various departments to keep all media lists up to date, current executive bios, industry award submissions, advance media for concerts, family shows, and special events throughout the L.A. LIVE Campus. They will work directly with members of the media, creating and distributing press releases and weekly media digest. In addition, they will serve as a spokesperson when advised on site and provide media recaps post events to the executive team.
Essential Duties:
- Coordinate communications for Crypto.com Arena, Peacock Theater and L.A LIVE – including print, online, radio and television – update and send weekly Upcoming Events & Media Info documents to media list.
- Coordinate internal communication for HR/Executive Talking Points.
- Keep all media lists, bios, historical venue documents, industry awards, speaking engagement opportunities up to date and current on shared drives.
- Manage all media request for all Crypto.com Arena and Peacock Theater non-tenant events and work directly with promoter or artist publicist to advance all approved media coverage.
- Create, draft, edit and/or approve press releases for non-tenant events, employee or venue recognition, event advisories.
- Working with others in the department, craft communications and storytelling campaigns to garner publicity for Crypto.com Arena, Peacock Theater and L.A. LIVE events, partners, sustainability, executives, etc.
- At the conclusion of events, provide post event media coverage recap to executive team.
- Serve as main point of contact internally for all house photography and videography, including scheduling, providing shot lists and proper distribution and filing of assets once received.
- Act as venue Communications spokesperson when assigned on property.
- Contributes content for written materials, including press releases, vital stats, website and emails (as needed on specially required verbiage).
Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):
- A minimum education level of: BA/BS Degree (4-year) in Communications, Public Relations, Social Media or related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
- Knowledge of Windows Office, Word, Excel, Power Point, Photoshop.
- Must be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends.
- Experienced/well-versed using Facebook/ Twitter/ Instagram/TikTok/YouTube and latest social platforms to promote events and build brands.
- Excellent writing and communication skills both in English and Spanish.
- Creative thinking, strong initiative, and verbal presentation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and organization skills.
- Self-starter, strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Great work ethic and attitude.
- Established mainstream and digital media contacts.
- Experience updating and managing media contact lists and working with media monitoring services.
- Ability to pitch media for a variety of different events.
- Ability to work irregular hours including weekends and holidays.
Pay Scale: $75,000 - $85,000
