Position Summary:

Incumbent oversees the operation of the campus and/or medical center communications and data networks including telecommunications. Plans, designs, develops, installs and maintains communications and data network systems for the campus, medical center or a unit.

Required Qualifications:

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Must be willing and able to work occasional weekends and evenings as needed
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working in progressively more complex analytical/support roles within a healthcare unit
• Knowledge of operating system internals, file systems, functions of hardware components, and how hardware and software components work together to form a computer system
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Demonstrated skill to work independently and to prioritize and manage a relative number of simultaneous requests and to work on tasks which may not be clearly defined
• Demonstrated experience working as a project manager / lead
• Demonstrated experience in healthcare IT, preferably in an academic hospital setting
• Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise and motivate staff
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and/or combination of education and equivalent work experience
• Ability to manage multiple medium to large scale projects with multiple stakeholders in a cross matrix environment
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior lead or supervisory experience
• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
