About the role:

This part-time role will play an important role in telling aiEDU's story and supporting our communications team with a range of writing and content production. 

With support from communications leadership, the right candidate will help own aiEDU's social channels, and support with writing, production and content for aiEDU's communications team, including blog posts and potentially video content. This role will also support other written, and communications projects as needed to drive forward our communications and marketing strategy.

Work might include - maintaining and updating a social media calendar on LinkedIn, creating novel blog posts for aiEDU's owned channels, refreshing aiEDU's website, providing copy-editing and content support to aiEDU's teams communicating with external audiences, support creating communications assets (primarily written materials) and other tasks that support our promotional, marketing and engagement efforts.

⭐ Role Details

• Location: This part-time / contract (non-exempt) role can be done on a flexible schedule remotely from anywhere in the U.S. with access to high-speed internet. The candidate should be comfortable and equipped to work efficiently in a remote work environment.
• Compensation: The baseline compensation for this role is $40-$45/hr

We expect this role to be about 10-20 hours per week.

• Start date: We'd like a candidate to start as soon as possible after receiving an offer, though there is some flexibility.

✅ Your Responsibilities:

Social media writing and content - 40%

• Conceptualizing and drafting social media copy and content for aiEDU's linkedin page 
• Creating a weekly calendar of posts for brand account + resharing by team 
• Highlighting social media opportunities for aiEDU team

Blog content and management - 40%

• Under direction, write and conceptualize blog posts (written) and video (in the future) for aiEDU web page and blog 
• Create content to support aiEDU's communications team

Writing + communications tasks - 20%

• Assorted research, writing and comms associated tasks to support larger initiatives such as curriculum roll out, AI framework roll out, etc. at discretion of Communications Director

✅ Your Impact: 

Within 1 Month, You Will: 

• Understand aiEDU's tone of voice and areas of focus.
• Post social media and blog posts that support key aiEDU initiatives and project our thought leadership into the world. 
• Begin to develop a longer-term vision for balancing writing needs for our channels.

Within 3 Months, You Will: 

• Have an easy-to-use and forward-looking social media and blog calendar.
• Help the communications team launch new initiatives with creative and thoughtful ideas to support with content.
• Have developed a great understanding for how aiEDU works with its partners and drives change in the world.

Within 6 Months, You Will:

• Have created a consistent, editorially driven social media + blog presence for aiEDU
• Supported and strengthened communications initiatives for aiEDU.
• Contributed to long-term planning around content channels.

Within a Year, You Will:

• Be an expert on how aiEDU can show up on social media and our owned channels, driving creative and innovative solutions to support our communications strategy.
• Develop a proactive instinct for what we need to amplify. 
• Grow into additional communications support functions. 

About You

• 2 years' experience with writing and producing content and social media for a professional organization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Understanding of social media, and blog content production.
• Understanding of editing, style, and grammar.
• Experience producing content for a non-profit, startup, or growing business.
• Experience with short-form video and video content production.
• Strong organization, time management, and planning skills.
• Interpersonal Skills: Building relationships, trust, and rapport with Customers.
• News judgment – understanding of what's topical, interesting, and current.
• Adaptability:  Staying flexible and adjusting to changing dynamics and new tasks.
• Ability to meet at least twice per week for live discussion of projects, goals and timelines.
