The City of Tomball is accepting applications for the position of Community Center Assistant. This position will be responsible for planning and supervising a plethora of indoor recreational activities to meal preparation for large gatherings. With a focus on a diverse range of age groups and special populations. This position demands a dynamic individual who can multitask and handle the complexities of daily operations.

Education HS_GED
Experience Minimum of 2 years previous relevant work experience is required.
Certifications Kitchen Manager, Food Handling, First Aid, CPR
Licensing Valid Texas Drivers License
Community Center Assistant functionsinclude but are not limited to the following.
- Planning and Supervision: Assist in the planning, coordination, and supervision of a wide range of indoor recreation activities. Plan and supervise community trips, lead classes, and host community driven events. Assist in planning, scheduling, implementing, and evaluating recreational activities tailored to various age groups and special populations.
- Operational Management: Perform diverse tasks related to the daily operation and usage of the community center. Monitor room rentals and interact with citizens who visit the center. Ensure compliance with applicable City and County laws, ordinances, as well as City policies and procedures. Assist in coordinating maintenance, custodial tasks, and basic landscaping activities for the center.
- Financial Transactions Management: Oversee all financial transactions related to rental agreements, including deposits, rent payments, and late fees. Prepare and assess rental agreements to ensure compliance. Serve as the primary point of contact for renters regarding contract inquiries, payment issues, and lease renewals. Facilitate timely processing of rent payments through various channels, ensuring accuracy in billing and records. Address and resolve any disputes related to rental contracts or financial transactions in a timely and professional manner.
- Record Keeping and Communication: Maintain organized and accurate records of all contracts and financial transactions for auditing and reporting purposes. Maintain records for program activities. Assist in preparing, sorting, and filing vital documents and records. Provide routine information in alignment with specified policies and procedures, whether in person, via email, or over the phone.
- Meal Preparation and Management: Plan and prepare meals for large audiences, ensuring variety and nutrition. Engage in meal-related shopping and serve meals to participants. Obtain County Health Department Kitchen Manager Certification to ensure adherence to health standards.
- Engage with the local community to promote center events and activities.
- Update community center bulletin boards and digital communication channels.
- Contribute to the team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.

- Ability to multitask and handle varied tasks daily, from supervising activities to meal preparation.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interaction with community members.

- Understanding of the community's needs, including an awareness of activities that appeal to different age groups and populations.
- Culinary proficiency for meal preparation and knowledge of health standards for large-scale cooking.

SALARY:
- Hiring range - $37,918 - $39,814 ($18.23 - $19.14)
- Salary range - $37,918 - $56,888
