The Client Accounting Manager will report directly to the V.P. of Accounting.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervision of Portfolio Accountants:
- Review ALL monthly financial packages for accuracy.
- Assist Portfolio Accountant with complex projects, special assessments, etc.
- Hold bi-weekly staff meetings, develop and distribute agenda to discuss current events.
- Supervise year-end compilation, review, audit, and tax preparations. Ensure all reports and taxes are completed in a timely manner
- Supervision of AR / Customer Care:
- Review and approve estoppel certificates. Ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Review ownership transfers and payments received from closing.
- Review remote deposit / lockbox details to ensure accuracy.
- 1st point of escalation for upset customer. If necessary, elevate further to VP.
- Client On-Boarding
- Majority of on-boarding to be handled by VP. Provide assistance as directed.
- Assign portfolio accountant for new client.
- Review / discuss new client with portfolio accountant after on-boarding handoff to understand expectations and timeline for additional transition-related items.
- Oversee 30-60 day transition closely with portfolio accountant to ensure all items transitioned appropriately. (Beginning GL Balances, A/R Balances, bank accounts at South State, Strongroom Setup, etc.)
- Portfolio Accounting
- Preparation of monthly financial statements (including supplemental schedules).
- Bank account reconciliation of all community association accounts on a monthly basis.
- Invoice processing and payment disbursement to vendors.
- Fielding questions related to community association financial matters.
- Assisting in the investment of community association surplus funds.
- Miscellaneous / General:
- Create budget templates.
- Assign, re-assign employees in Strongroom. Create accounts for new employees. Conduct short training session.
- Conduct employee reviews for staff under supervision.
- Coordinate pack up of YTD financial records.
- Coordinate annual 1099/1096 filings for all clients.
- Serve as an ambassador of corporate culture and growth by leading by example.
- Read and comply with the RealManage and Keystone Property Management Group Employee Handbooks.
- Follow all Policies and Standard Operating Procedures as directed by Management.
- Perform and or participate in any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties/tasks as assigned by Management.
Qualifications:
The qualifications for this position include the following:
- 3-5 years of bookkeeping / accounting management experience
- Accounting / business degree
- Real estate / property management industry experience a plus
- Hands on experience with mid-tier accounting software applications a plus
- Excellent computer skills including spreadsheet software
- Excellent grasp of basic accounting theory and methods of accounting (accrual, cash and modified cash)
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong interpersonal/communication (written and verbal) skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, challenging, high change/growth environment
- Ability to follow established standard operating procedures and meet deadlines
Pay and Benefits:
$75,000 to $85,000, depending on education and experience.
