JOB SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Community Healing Unit (CHU) Manager, the individual in this position is responsible for performing trauma informed mental health treatment services, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and coordinating patient care with appropriate staff. This person is also responsible for providing clinical supervision and support to Community Healing Unit staff, conducting quality improvement projects, and developing, implementing, and enforcing CHU standards and protocols in clinical practices.

Essential Job Functions
- Provide a partial caseload for direct services to victims of all ages impacted by crime, hate, and violence through comprehensive mental health treatment services via individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, treatment planning, and case management as needed.
- Manage CHU program crisis situations by serving as the primary point of contact, leading the crisis care intervention and coordination among staff, developing and updating CHU crisis protocols, and conducting post-crisis debriefs.
- Oversee victim centered and trauma informed care, and as needed collaborate and provide CHU program training to various AHS departments and external providers, agencies, and partners.
- Lead/organize case consultations, care coordination, vicarious trauma support, huddles,peerconsultation,andotherpatientcaremeetings as related to CHU program clients and services.
- Identify, address, and bridge barriers and gaps in victim care by creating targeted trainings, developing protocols and tools for CHU team, and staying current with evolving challenges.
- Updateandmaintainan activebehavioralhealth & victim services database.
- Ensure and monitor all operations, procedures, interventions, patient records and documentation to comply with the agency, state, and county guidelines, and quality assurance standards.
- Ensure compliance with all insurance, billing, and auditing rules regarding service delivery and documentation
- Liaisonwithoutsideagenciesincludingbutnotlimitedtovictim service agencies, psychiatric institutions,social service agencies, or other mental health facilities to coordinate patient care for AHS patients.
- Support CHU Program Manager and admin team with CHU program goals, provide clinical insight to program design and logistics, and oversee necessary rollouts of protocols and workflows.

Supervisory Responsibilities (Clinical & Non-Clinical)
- Serve as the clinical lead of the CHU program and supervise assigned staff, including Associate Social Workers, program coordinators, lay counselors, students, interns, and other direct service staff in individual and group settings.
- Clinical supervision encompasses all aspects of behavioral health services administered by staff including screening, intake evaluations, risk and safety assessments, individualized treatment plans, crisis intervention, individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, treatment planning, case management, and outreach.
- Provide and curate culturally informed training related to:
- a) behavioral health clinical skills (identify level of care, care coordination, warm handoff, etc.);
- b) lay counseling skills (motivational interviewing, emotional support, developing rapport, mental health first aid, etc.);
- c) various victim service subjects (crisis services, social services, systems navigation, etc.);
- e) electronic health record system (clinical workflows, electronic coordination, charting, etc.).
- Manage the CHU program patient list and status with duties such as ensuring timely case assignments, tracking referrals and discharges, maintaining CHU team caseloads, monitoring high risk cases, and checking on engagement in services.
- Perform chart reviews, set standards and expectations on charting, and co-sign all clinical documentation by supervisees to monitor clinical interventions, ensure quality and appropriateness of services.
- Supervise the CHU phoneline with CHU coordinator and CHU manager.
- Conducts supervisory/managerial responsibilities by the organization's policies and applicable laws including interviewing and hiring employees; planning, assigning, scheduling, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing and resolving complaints; and following the Board of Behavioral Sciences laws, ethics, and requirements.
- Function as a professional role model for staff.
General Agency/AHS Duties
- Fosters an environment that promotes trust and cooperation among clients and staff.
- Enforces clinic policies and procedures, including maintenance of client confidentiality under HIPAA privacy rules, to ensure that the principles of AHS are implemented.
- Plays an active role in planning organization-wide activities such as AHS general membership meetings, fundraisers, special clinic days, and other events.
- Participates in general membership meetings, fundraisers, and other public events, as required.
- Participates in outreach activities, and agency advocacy, and serves on ad hoc committees, as requested.
- Attends AHS staff retreats and Board of Directors meetings, as required.
- Participates in agency-wide quality improvement program processes and performance improvement teams to ensure excellence in the quality of services provided across the agency.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in social work or counseling required.
- Must be licensed within the State of California for minimum of two (2) years as LCSW, MFT, LPCC, or equivalent.
- Two years of clinical supervision in a counseling therapy setting, community health setting, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with brief and long-term psychotherapy.
- Trauma and crisis experience.
- Must be able to supervise ASW, ASMFT, APCC and student interns.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to speak, read, and write at a high proficiency level in an Asian language (Cantonese and Mandarin strongly desired).
- Victim support experience in any related field (crisis line, suicide line, DV, homicide, shooting, etc.)
- Knowledge of local health and social services resources tied to the Asian immigrant, refugee, low-English proficient, vulnerable victim community.
- Available to work hybrid (in-person and virtually) and on weekends and evenings as needed.

- Demonstrate organizational, coordination, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with electronic health records.
- Experience in working in the FQHC setting as a behavioral health provider.
- Clinical supervisory experience in a behavioral health setting with clinical and nonclinical staff.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
- Possess a valid California professional LCSW license
