Community Health Education SupervisorThe Community Health Education Supervisor reports to the Director for Community Health Advancement and is part of the Community Health Advancement Team. They supervise the Community Health Educators who support the Bronson system and lead Community Health Education efforts to meet needs identified in Bronson’s Community Health Needs Assessments. Major responsibilities include administering Bronson’s annual SNAP-Ed grant as well as leading community-focused health education programs and events and CHNA- social needs-driven initiatives. This a full-time position, .35 FTE grant funded.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Health Education, Nutrition, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in community or public health, preferably in a health promotion/education capacity
- Solid knowledge of and experience in curricula and program design, development and delivery; Instructional design skills and experience preferred
- Experienced grant writer preferred
- Windows based computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- ServSafe certification, preferred
Essential Functions:
In collaboration with the Bronson Health Foundation, seeks, writes and coordinates a federal SNAP-Ed grant including staff hiring, supervision and training; invoicing, budget management and reconciliation; and monthly and annual reporting required by the grant. As part of the Community Health Advancement Department, supports Bronson’s tri-annual Community Health Needs Assessments and the subsequent Community Health Implementation Plan; Utilizes CHNA data to identify system, county, and population-specific health education needs. Provides community health education. Supervises and trains Community Health Educators. Ensures all community health education programs, presentations and initiatives offered to community members are evidence-based and delivered according to research-based health behavior change theories. Creates, manages, implements and evaluates community health education opportunities; establishes and tracks progress on measurable goals and objectives; reports results to organization, funders, partners and in CBISA; promotes the understanding of community health education as an evidence-based practice to improve health outcomes and reduce inequities. Manages the creation and distribution of community health education resources including infographics, social media, shorts, videos, brochures, newsletters, resource packets, news articles, and other informational and educational materials. Partners with community-based organizations; may serve on state, local, and/or Bronson committees and coalitions to advance community health objectives, increase collaboration, and reduce duplication of efforts. Represents Bronson at community health fairs, events, and other activities across the system. Collaborates with Bronson departments to bridge the gap between the healthcare system and the community to better meet the needs of patients and community members. Organizes training and professional development opportunities for staff, evaluates employee performance using a performance management system, and helps employees set goals.

Other Requirements:
- Possession of a valid Michigan Driver’s license
- Available to work varied hours, in varied locations across the Bronson system, including nights and weekends
Physical Requirements
- The job produces some physical demands. Must be able to:
- Walk over uneven terrain, climbs stairs, and transfer program supplies in and out of vehicles to gain access to locations
- Lift and carry boxes, display cases, audiovisual equipment, etc., and other materials weighing up to 35 lbs.
- Bend, stoop and reach to access files, materials, and equipment
- Work which produces high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g., interactive and repetitive or small detailed work requiring alertness and concentration for sustained periods of time, the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT between 40 and 70 percent of the time
- Enter and access information using a computer and smart phone.
