This job is very unique in that you are required to be a live in house manager for three adults with disabilities for two years while simultaneously attending McDaniel College earning a Master's Degree in Human Services amp; Management.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Community Living Manager
Position Summary: To manage a traditional Group Home orapartment program serving as a home to participants with developmental andphysical disabilities. This is a two-year position.
Qualifications:Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university andbe eligible for enrollment in the master’s program at McDaniel College in HumanServices Management.
ESSENTIALDUTIES:
A.AGENCY
1.Performs essential job duties with or withoutreasonable accommodations.
2.Knows and complies with all required policies,procedures, regulations, and guidelines of Target and has a clear understandingof the specific regulations used in their department. Follows the regulationsand guidelines when carrying out duties and responsibilities.
3.Successfully completes all required in-servicetrainings and completes re-certifications as required; demonstrates a clearunderstanding of the issues presented in trainings; is eager to expandknowledge; keeps current with relevant changes and take appropriate steps toobtain needed information.
4.Performs duties in accordance with the philosophy, mission,and goals of the agency.
5.Works as a professional collaborative with allinternal and external stakeholders in modeling a safe, supportive, andrespectful demeanor, ensuring the highest quality services to all Targetparticipants.
6.Takes appropriate action based on circumstances;provides pertinent and comprehensive information to supervisory personnel.
7.Demonstrates the ability to manage personal time bybeing punctual and gives sufficient notice to immediate supervisor in case oftardiness or absenteeism per Target’s Attendance Policy.
8.Acts as an appropriate role model and representativeof Target as an agency as well as those employed by Target and those served. Chooseappropriate personal attire based on the circumstances. Maintains appropriateoverall appearance and demonstrates proper personal hygiene per Target’s Attireand Grooming Policy.
9.Demonstrates awillingness to perform all essential duties and job functions with the safetyof the participants and self as a top priority; adheres to and complies withall safety guidelines taught in trainings.
B.ADMINISTRATIVE
1.Completes probationary and annual employee evaluationsDirect Support Professionals with assistance of Co-Community Living Manager andCommunity Living Director in a timely manner.
2.Develops house or apartment schedule, reviews timesheets, and completes reconciliation form with Co-Community Living Manager.
3.Assures group home staff complete required DDA andagency trainings, trains and models for co-counselor and Direct Support Professionalson participant programs, schedules, and daily paperwork.
4.Completes and supervises daily, bi-weekly, monthly,and quarterly paperwork with Co-Community Living Manager.
5.Coordinates the hiring and supervision of Direct SupportProfessionals with the assistance of Co-Community Living Manager and CommunityLiving Director.
6.Conducts and supervises everyday maintenance of grouphomes (major repairs - see Directory).
7.Maintains close contact with supervisors of dayprogram to provide for a unified, consistent training program.
8.Works with all other levels of the program byparticipating in planning meetings, community meetings, and communicatingconcerns and suggestions, either written or verbally.
9.Assists the Director with receipts, reports ofexpenditures, and with the budget.
C. PARTICIPANT ISSUES
1.Develops participants PCP and ITM to include skillsassessment, strengths/needs, social service summary, residential summary, IPPacket, goals amp; objectives, develop SIP, implementation, and documentationof interventions, instruct staff in the implementation amp; documentation of SIP,evaluate intervention success.
2.Supervises Direct Support Professional implementationof programs and interactions with the house or apartment participants. Provide positive and/or corrective feedbackas necessary.
3.Assists the participants in receiving medical, dental,psychological, and other specific services by scheduling appointments,providing transportation, and documenting all medical interventions andrecommendations.
4.Follows up on physician and nursing recommendations ina timely manner.
5.Maintains regular contact with family and team membersof the participant and communicates with them in a professional manner.
D. PARTICIPANT ISSUES (DIRECT CARE)
1.Assists the participantsin their daily routines of personal care and grooming according to the needs ofthe group home or apartment participants.
2.Maintains physical ability to restrain participants asneeded according to their behavioral program plans. The position also requiresthe ability to stand, bend, reach, lift 50 pounds, maneuver wheelchairs, andperform safe transfers of participants.
3.Assists the participants in the development of leisureand recreation time activities by participating in these activities as definedby the PCP and by serving as an advocate for community participation wheneverappropriate.
4.Maintains a family-type atmosphere for participants bymeal planning and preparations, providing nutritionally balanced meals, andhelping participants to acquire appropriate independent living skills.
5.Maintains a healthy, safe, clean, and organizedenvironment for the individuals being served within the group home orapartment.
6.Communicates instructions and directions to the participantsin a manner that is easily understandable. This requires fluency in speaking the primary language of the participants.
7.Demonstrates a willingness to perform essential jobfunctions and duties with the safety of the participants as a top priority;adheres to and complies with all safety guidelines taught in trainings.
8.Other duties as assigned by the supervisor asnecessary to provide appropriate care and support of Target’s participants.
E. EVALUATION
1.Three Month Evaluation of Internship: At or around the three-month anniversary ofemployment, all candidates are evaluated by their Program Director. Poor performance in this evaluation may resultin dismissal from the Target internship.
Target Internship I: First Year Assessment of Internship: During the Fall semester of their firstacademic year, all candidates must register for the Target Internship I (3 credits)course. At the end of the semester, eachcandidate is evaluated using the Performance Appraisal form (included in thishandbook) and provided with a grade based upon the number of points received onthe evaluation out of 100 possible points (see grading scale below).
2.Target Internship II: Second Year Assessment of Internship: During the Spring semester of their secondyear, all candidates will register for the Target Internship II (3 credits)course. At the end of the semester, eachcandidate is again evaluated using the Performance Appraisal form (included inthis handbook) and provided a grade for the course based upon the number ofpoints received on the evaluation out of 100 possible points (see grading scalebelow).

C Below 70 points
F Below 60 points
A grade of “C” orbelow on Internships I or II may result in dismissal from both the Targetinternship and the graduate program in Human Services Management at McDanielCollege.
F. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a Class 1,salaried, 40 - 45 hours per week, exempt status position. Weekend and eveninghours are required.
The CommunityLiving Manager position with Target Community amp; Educational Services, Inc.serves as the internship site for candidates of the master’s degree program inHuman Service Management.
I agree to honorthe provisions and terms of this job description, and understand that as acondition of employment, I must be in good standing at McDaniel College toremain employed as a CLM at Target Community amp; Educational Services, Inc.
I also understandthat as a condition of being a candidate for the Master’s Degree in HumanServices Management, I must be employed as a full-time manager for TargetCommunity amp; Educational Services, Inc.
I understand thatif I resign my employment with Target Community amp; Educational Services.Inc. or if my employment.is terminated for any reason, I will no longer be eligiblefor a Target Scholarship.
I understand thatthis is a 24-month internship position. My employment/internship ends on the day prior to McDaniel College’sgraduation date.
I understand thatwhile employed as a full-time intern with Target Community amp; EducationalServices, Inc., and a full-time graduate student at McDaniel, I will not acceptadditional outside employment so that I will always be available to meet theneeds of my participants during my internship.
I understand thatwhile employed by Target Community amp; Educational Services, Inc. I will notuse a company vehicle for personal use and maintain a good driving record.
G. BENEFITS

Salary: Minimum $94,500
