Community Outreach and Equity Coordinator
Healthy Acadia, a non-profit community health coalition providing health
services primarily in Washington and
Hancock counties and as well as across Maine, seeks an experienced
Community Outreach and Equity
Coordinator to join a dynamic team passionate about making it easier for
all people to lead healthier lives.
Reporting to the Community Health, Food & Equity Programs Director, the
Community Outreach and Equity
Coordinator will work closely with Healthy Acadias Equity and Admin
Teams to advance racial and health
equity internally and in the community.
Responsibilities: Provide key coordination and support in advancing
Healthy Acadias internal equity goals,
including supporting implementation of the Equity Strategic Plan. Work
with HAs Equity and Admin Teams to
identify and implement further equity programming. Work closely in
partnership with Mano en Mano to assess
community needs on an ongoing basis and develop programing and health
offerings in non-English languages,
with a particular emphasis on Spanish language offerings. Serve as a
liaison between Healthy Acadia and other
area organizations leading similar equity work. Offer selected
Spanish-language translation and selected
Spanish-language community health programming, and coordinate with
partners to support their non-English
language community health services. Support Healthy Acadia staff across
program areas to expand their
offerings to reach more diverse populations, as well as to offer
non-English services and programming.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
? Strong racial and/or health equity experience and/or training.
? Spanish language fluency required.
? Experience working with diverse populations.
? Strong skills in community outreach and engagement.
? Demonstrated ability to work professionally and accurately, within
deadlines.
? Highly organized and able to manage multiple assignments and
priorities.
? Strong computer skills.
? Team player with a high professional standards, positive attitude, and
flexibility.
? Interest in and ability to work collaboratively within the
organization and with partner organizations.
? Minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
This is a 20 hours/week position, with potential to increase up to 40
hours/week, based on candidate interest and
funding availability. Salary range: $20-22/hour. Regular travel in
Washington and Hancock counties and
occasional travel beyond is required.
