Summary of Function
The Community and Partner Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives that build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including public and private organizations, non-profits, and local communities. The successful candidate collaborates with a wide range of partners to create and implement action plans that support the mission and goals of our organization.
Agency Duties and Responsibilities
1. Supports the mission, vision and philosophy of Neighborhood House and embraces our values of equity, accountability, belonging, relationships, courage and joy.
- Provides leadership and positive interaction with others as evidenced by professional maturity, respect for others, a team-centered approach, maintenance of confidential information, and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace.
- Exhibits effective communication skills internally and externally including proper use of agency communication systems.
- Exhibits sound stewardship by effectively managing financial resources, information resources, and physical resources to achieve the objectives of Neighborhood House.
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Establish and maintain relationships with public and private organizations, non-profits, and local communities
- Develop and implement strategies to engage stakeholders in activities that promote our mission and goals
- Identify, research, and analyze current and potential community engagement initiatives
- External Events: Design, plan, and coordinate external events to promote the organization's activities in the community.
- Internal events: Designing, planning, and coordinating internal events to promote organization's goals. This includes but not limited to oversight of monthly NeighborNite event and annual Fall Festival.
- Create and manage campaigns to increase public awareness of our organization and initiatives
- Monitor progress of initiatives and report findings to management
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that initiatives are properly represented and communicated across all channels
- Help secure and coordinate additional resources/partners to strengthen programs
Required Background, Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or related field
- Minimum two years of experience in community engagement or related field
- Understanding of Neighborhood House vision and desire to advance our mission
- Motivated to build relationships with Neighborhood House supporters and members and work across internal teams.
- Strong communication skills in person, across electronic platforms, and on the phone.
- Highly reliable and detail-oriented.
- Flexibility, ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Able to work some evenings, early mornings or weekends occasionally
- Commitment to cultural sensitivity and diversity in the workplace
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of community engagement tools and techniques
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
