Community Planner 4 - Mead & Hunt

As a result, a full-time position is available for a Community Planner. This opportunity is available at our Baltimore, MD; Columbia, MD; Herndon, VA; or Washington, D.C. office location.

Responsibilities for this position may include:

• Leading or participating in complex planning studies related to transportation, equity, environmental justice, land use, sustainability, resiliency, economic development, and urban design
• Leading or participating in research, data collection (in field and online), GIS analyses, demographic and socioeconomic analyses, and technical writing and editing
• Preparing and editing reports and documents such as community master plans, comprehensive plans, corridor studies, transportation plans, ADA transition plans, safety action plans, technical reports, zoning ordinances, PEL studies/NEPA documents, and grant application narratives.
• Assisting with streetscape and urban design concept development, renderings, and cost estimating
• Participating in stakeholder engagement and public outreach to include presentation materials, website content, and compiling and analyzing public comments
• Working with communities that are socially, economically, linguistically, and/or ethnically diverse. Candidates with Spanish speaking skills are encouraged to apply.

Occasional travel for meetings, training, and project site visits will be required. Some weeknights or weekend work may be required. A valid driver's license will be required.

The successful candidate will have all the following:

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in a related field such as planning, geography, public policy, landscape architecture, urban design, geodesign, or civil engineering
• A minimum of four years of related work experience
• AICP preparation preferred

Salary Range: $80,000 to $105,000 – Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
