*The Embrace Initiative at the University of Maryland, Baltimore has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, caring, and team-oriented Community Program Coordinator.*The selected candidate will accomplish responsibilities by applying specialized and theoretical knowledge, principles, and concepts of a professional discipline normally acquired through advanced education or specialized training. They resolve issues and significant matters on behalf of management by utilizing independent judgment, discretion, creativity, and analytical thinking. The Coordinator contributes to development and evaluation of goals and objectives. They create solutions to ensure legal and policy compliance. May supervise, mentor, or coordinate work of others (positions that supervise are responsible for service delivery, quality assurance, and employee performance). May independently manage or administer programs, processes, projects, or resources./This is a Contractual position./ This role applies entry level knowledge, concepts, principles, and skills. Decision making occurs within defined parameters. Supervisor defines assignments, expectations, and deadlines. Supervisor may review work for quality. Demonstrates initiative and discretion to resolve routine and non-routine matters. All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland.* *Primary Duties* * Coordinate internal and/or external community activities and functions of OAA Embrace to ensure that goals and objectives for specified community program is accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications. * Coordinate day-to-day activities of the community program with inter-related activities of other programs, departments, or staff to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and specifications. * Manage data collection, keep records of program activities: progress, status, and outcomes, and prepare reports for management. * Recruit program participants, members and volunteers utilizing most appropriate promotional or marketing methods, such as individual letters, brochures, or presentations. * Assist in the preparation of proposals for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors. * Interact and maintain liaison with students, faculty, staff and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with community members and partners in order to grow the programming. * Schedule, market, and promote events of the program by independently developing promotional marketing materials and event plans. * May coordinate, monitor or supervise the activities of work study students, volunteers, and contractual employees. * Performs other duties as assigned. *Education:*Bachelor's degree. *Experience:*One (1) year of administrative or program coordination experience. *Other:*Related experience to program may be substituted for education. *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities* Thorough knowledge of position requirements. Thorough knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to support a mission and strategic vision. Instructional, training, and teambuilding skills to strengthen and cultivate relationships. Skill in consultation and change management.
