Community Training Specialist - Full Time (NV, Las Vegas) - Opportunity Village

Under the direction of the Customer Service Manager/Custodial Site Supervisor, the Community Training Specialist (CTS) is responsible for providing the day-to-day training and supervision of individuals served with disabilities. The CTS will ensure that clients develop the skills necessary to prepare them for future employment opportunities within the community, and to achieve the goals established in their Vocational and Individual Service Plans (ISP). This person will also work closely with the Career Opportunity Advocates to plan and provide work related supportive services such as assistance with hygiene, meals, and transportation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide manual labor associated with the daily cleaning of buildings. Typical duties may include: dusting, mopping, sweeping, cleaning restrooms, removing trash, polishing furniture and simple operation of basic mechanical cleaning equipment.
2. Provide department specific training/mentoring for all new employees and continuing training/mentoring for current employees.
3. Conduct daily team huddles to solicit feedback, answer questions, and communicate relevant information to custodial employees.
4. Provide managers with information regarding staff performance.
5. Required to read service and habilitation plans for all individuals served in the program to assure each individual is receiving their proper care according to their plan(s).
6. Ensure proper documentation is complete (i.e. ID notes, Incident reports and corrective action)
7. Complete time studies if contract requires.
8. Comply with all Federal, State (Desert Regional Center) and local regulations and requirements, and company policies and procedures.
9. Report suspected Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation (ANE) within 24 hours as mandated by state law.
10. Provide leadership and direction to the individuals served.
11. Evaluate and inspect the performance to guarantee quality assurance.
12. Prioritize work ensure the job scope is being accomplished on a daily basis.
13. Responsible for maintaining inventory to maintain a standard level of supplies.
14. Provide job coaching, as well as assisting the Case Manager to identify vocational strengths, challenges, and goals for each individual served.
15. Drive company vehicle with the individuals working within the contract from Opportunity Village campus to job site.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.
