Under the direction of the Community Resource Center (CRC) Leadership team, the Community Resource Center (CRC) Nutrition Coach will lead a variety of nutrition classes consisting of food demonstrations, nutrition education and other nutrition resources, for IEHP Members and surrounding community. The Community Resource Center (CRC) Nutrition Coach will provide one-on-one training for CRC participants by providing personalized support, accountability, encouragement, and celebration on wellness journey to a diverse community and lifestyles.
The Community Resource Center (CRC) Nutrition Coach will coordinate group activities and will teach preset curriculum, implement teaching strategies, monitor, and evaluate student progress and keep accurate student records. The Community Resource Center (CRC) Nutrition Coach will be responsible to report any required maintenance or repairs to CRC leadership while adhering to safety policies and if needed, will provide certified CPR/First Aid.
1. Development and delivery of nutrition programs for groups at the Community Resource Centers.
2. Lead scheduled nutrition and/or food demonstration classes, beginning and ending on time, as well as offer substitutions to accommodate different health limitations; this includes purchasing food and adhering to any known food allergies of participants.
3. Provide a safe and fun environment for participants.
4. Provide customer service to Community Resource Center (CRC) participants at assigned CRC.
5. Create customized nutrition plans with modifications and goals appropriate for each person and/or groups.
6. Assist participants in establishing achievable short and long term nutrition goals, provide support to help maintain progress and empower participants to take control of their health.
7. Develop sustainable meals, exercises, or other wellness plans tailored to participant goals.
8. Maintain and cultivate positive relationships with participants by greeting in between classes or providing a follow up call to make sure they are feeling well.
9. Educate Community Resource Center (CRC) participants on the “why” behind their weight loss and wellness journey.
10. Support and maintain organizational objectives by promoting good health and continuity of care through up-to-date client files, notes and documentation, addressing any care gaps and referrals to Community Resource Center (CRC) staff, and any additional follow up.
11. Motivate to Community Resource Center (CRC) participants to engage in center activities and to complete nutrition sessions.
12. Assist with Community Resource Center (CRC) special events related to health and fitness held at assigned CRC.
13. Assure the safety of all Community Resource Center (CRC) participants during individual training sessions and/or group activity sessions while in the CRCs.
14. Explain and enforce safety rules in the Community Resource Center (CRC).
15. Maintain group kitchen, equipment, rooms, and storage areas to keep clean and tidy areas while adhering to Community Resource Center (CRC) policies and procedures.
16. Keep management informed of customer and facility needs ensuring safety and security standards are met.
17. Foster a sense of community and connections among participants through effective communication, encouragement, and creating opportunities for interaction.
18. Provide certified Emergency First Aid, when necessary.

Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Active Food Handlers Card (Riverside and San Bernardino Counties) required.
- Active CPR/First Aid Certification required.
- Possession of an active, unrestricted, NASM Certified Nutrition (CNC), Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS), or equivalent certification or license required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a nutrition coach or instructor directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Specific experience teaching nutrition and developing nutritious meal plans in a group setting.

- Energy transfer, fat storage, and muscle gain.
- Kitchen safety and techniques.
- Healthy meal planning for diverse groups.
- The Team Member in this role must take an English language proficiency assessment and must receive a passing score.
