About the Job
The Compliance Analyst supports customer compliance with an emphasis on internal and external reporting and operational auditing. This position is responsible for performing operational compliance audits of all shipments ensuring quality and consistency of adherence to all procedures and policies. Will be responsible for preparing regularly scheduled and ad-hoc reports for customers. Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) to leadership in the areas of reporting, auditing, and compliance to policies. This position also assists in the preparation and delivery of training materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews, provides feedback, and submits TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA) applications for approval; follows up on missing information and provides updates to Management
- Tracks, administers mandatory TSA training, and annual re-training for all operational employees requiring authorized STA status.
- Regularly performs operational and regulatory compliance audits to ensure internal and customer compliance with all governmental agencies including U.S. Customs and TSA.
- Audits AES transactions to determine the value of shipments for U.S. Customs reporting.
- Prepares information, supplemental documentation, and paperwork for Ascensus audits and provides it to leadership upon request.
- Identifies and documents audit issues and recommendations of concerning areas; communicates the results of the audit to management.
- Reviews EEIs reviews the data for accuracy and reports discrepancies.
- Provides reports as required, twice daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or on an ad-hoc basis to customers and management.
- Develops, tracks, trends and analyzes compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Closes out bonds.
- Ensures the consistency of CNW policies and procedures as it relates to compliance.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, Operations Management or an equivalent combination of audit or compliance experience is required.
- Prior work experience in logistics/freight forwarding industry is preferred but, not required.
- Incredibly strong attention to detail and a keen eye for data integrity.
- Advanced knowledge in MS Excel or Google Sheets.
- Intermediate to advanced experience using Windows operating system and Microsoft software applications is required.
- Must exhibit excellent communication skills, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability; ability to read, analyze and interpret verbal and written requests and directions.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills with the ability to grasp extensive knowledge while dealing with a variety of people.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment of constant change.
- Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
- Can present oneself in a highly cooperative and professional manner when meeting both internal and external customers and vendors face to face.
