Compliance Engineer
Location: Remote within the United States
The Compliance Engineer will support NERC registration and similar regulatory activities for a growing portfolio of renewable energy assets. This position will have specific emphasis placed on conducting technical studies on NERC FAC, PRC, and MOD Reliability Standards and Requirements. The candidate will work within the Compliance team to support the fulfillment of project management contracts across multiple solar portfolios.
- Perform or review various NERC Compliance studies: FAC-008, PRC-005, PRC-019, PRC-024, PRC-025, PRC-026, PRC-027, MOD-025, and MOD-032.
- Perform high level bulk power system studies using various power system software such as PSS/e, PSCAD, Aspen, and PSLF.
- Review engineering studies for new and emerging technologies such as inverters, or Bulk Energy Storage Systems, which may require interaction with equipment vendors to complete the analyses.
- Process, generate and maintain data as required for other engineering related studies.
- Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering with power system emphasis.
- If no BSEE, need to be comfortable with relays and protections systems, and have high voltage experience
- Minimum 2 to 3 years (in excess of degree requirements) of experience as a power system engineer.
- Must be able to complete engineering studies (protection system studies and modeling studies) doing compliance work
- Must have experience performing/reviewing NERC Compliance studies PRC-005, 019, 024, 025, and 027
- Must be comfortable with and have experience with compliance for relays and protections systems on high voltage systems or substations
- Passion to learn within a growth-stage company within the renewable energy space
