About the Job
As a Regulatory Strategy Engagement Manager in the Regulatory Engagement team, you will lead a team dedicated to managing engagements with regulators for the firm's Commercial & Investment Bank. You will collaborate with senior leaders in the JPM Payments and Securities Services Businesses, providing strategic advice and managing regulatory examinations and engagements conducted by the FRB, OCC, FDIC. Reporting to the Regulatory Lead for the Commercial & Investment Banking Team, you will develop and execute regulatory engagement strategies and communicate these strategies to senior leaders within your coverage areas.
This role offers high visibility within the organization, involving regular interactions with senior business and functional leaders. The Regulatory Engagement team, part of Firmwide Regulatory Strategy, serves as a centralized resource supporting RM&C in managing regulatory exams and ongoing monitoring activities.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage a team ranging from Associates to Senior Vice Presidents.
- Oversee the direction, strategy, and decision-making as part of the Regulatory Engagement Management (REM) group, for the JPM Payments and Securities Services businesses.
- Serve as the main point of contact for all regulatory engagements affecting the JPM Payments and Securities Services businesses, liaising with both internal senior stakeholders and relevant regulators.
- Provide strategic guidance and credible review and challenge to senior leaders within the JPM Payments and Securities Services businesses.
- Facilitate global collaboration and communication on regulatory themes and focus areas within the coverage areas.
- Establish and execute the reporting strategy for the team, overseeing communications including content and messaging to senior management and regulators in the JPM Payments and Securities Services businesses.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a management-level role at a large financial institution, regulatory body, consulting firm, or law firm.
- Deep knowledge of and hands-on experience with regulatory exam processes and regulatory engagements.
- Proven track record of managing relationships at a senior level, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
- Superior management skills, including the ability to identify, develop, and nurture new talent, as well as the capacity to think and act strategically.
- Exceptional communication skills, including active listening and the ability to succinctly capture and convey key takeaways from engagements in writing.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Demonstrated subject matter experience in, or working with, Payments and Securities Services businesses within a large, complex banking organization is highly desirable.
