About the Job
Role:
Assists client credit unions in the development and maintenance of their compliance programs. Provides comprehensive compliance assistance to client credit unions.
1. Aux Compliance - The following duties may vary depending on experience, workload, and client needs:
- Research and respond to client support requests.
- Work with client credit unions in developing and maintaining their compliance programs.
- Review client credit unions' compliance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
- Assist in the development, evaluation, and updating of client policies, procedures, forms, advertising and marketing materials, etc. to improve compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Assist client credit unions with implementation of new and amended laws and regulations affecting credit unions, including updating policies and procedures to reflect those changes.
- Respond to questions and/or provide information upon request (internal and external).
- Develop and maintain compliance training materials and conduct training and/or coaching sessions for client credit unions and other organizations.
- Analyze and develop understanding of new and pending laws and regulations that will affect credit union operations.
- Maintain records and documentation of compliance oversight materials related to credit unions under contract. Maintain security and confidentiality of all materials kept for credit unions under contract. Coordinate information and resources with Compliance Managers, the VP of Compliance, and other staff as appropriate in accomplishing goals.
- Conduct independent tests/reviews and risk assessments on various compliance topics.
- Assist in special projects.
2. Administrative - The following duties may vary depending on experience, workload, and departmental needs:
- Manage compliance email and client communications.
- Prepare, analyze, and disseminate reports from the Compliance Support platform.
- Update credit union client and individual user information and access to the Compliance Support platform.
- Organize and host client meetings and presentations as required.
3. Other duties as assigned.
Work Experience:
Two to five years of similar or related experience.
Education:
A four-year college degree or equivalent experience. Completed, or agree to complete, Compliance and Bank Secrecy Act certification programs within 12 months of hire date.
Skill Set:
- Thorough knowledge of applicable credit union laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of financial institution operations and services desirable.
- PC proficient: MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams) and the Internet.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Analytical, research, and problem-solving skills essential
- Effective customer service skills.
- Exceptional people skills and team orientation.
- Ability to collaborate on multiple projects and multiple priorities.
- Ability to utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, fax, copier, telephone, etc.
- Some travel may be required.
Interpersonal Skills:
- A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
- Work involves extensive personal contact with others and /or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature.
- Work may involve motivating or influencing others.
- Outside contacts are important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) is necessary.
Work Environment:
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office environment or a hybrid/fully remote environment.
Physical Activity and Abilities Physical requirements include:
- Ability to speak clearly in order to provide information and direction to staff.
- Ability to respond to telephone calls and personal communications
- Ability to operate computer keyboard
- Ability to clearly see computer screen
- Ability to move to various locations within the building
- Standing and stooping for files and reports
- Lifting up to 25 pounds
