What You Will Be Doing
The concrete finisher typically requires physical strength, attention to detail, and the ability to work in various weather conditions. Experience with concrete work and knowledge of different concrete mixtures and finishing techniques are usually necessary.
 

Job Responsibilities: 

• Checking concrete forms (molds) 

• Mixing concrete to the correct specifications 

• Setting and aligning the forms 

• Cleaning and inspecting surfaces for pouring issues. 

• Spreading, levelling and smoothing concrete using a variety of specialist equipment 

• Molding expansion joints and edges 

• Monitoring the effects of weather on concrete 

• Facilitating concrete pouring. 

• Applying sealing and hardening components. 

• Pouring, smoothing, and levelling concrete using a rake, trowel, float, and screed. This includes handheld tools and power tool versions 

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma. 

• Minimum 5 years work experience as a concrete laborer or mason. 

• Knowledge of hand-held and power tools including power vibrators, polishers, cutting saws, and edging tools.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift heavy loads, work in awkward spaces safely and stand for long hours. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
