Position – Mechanical Foreman – Water/Wastewater Construction
Foreman position for multi-location workforce self-performing mechanical work, including above ground process piping, under slab/underground piping, equipment setting, general water treatment process, plant & system testing and startup, as well as any other related equipment/appurtenances necessary. Position is a field Foreman position supervising self-perform installation crew(s) and/or subcontractors if required. Regular, predictable attendance is essential for satisfactory performance.
TOTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist other Foreman and craft in maintaining a safe workplace.
- Examine drawings and specifications for various work tasks and ensure current information is passed down to crew for safe and proper construction.
- Track project schedule and plan work tasks.
- Schedule crews according to available work activities for the project and help procure all required equipment and material necessary to complete the task.
- Work with management team to plan the sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers.
- Conduct regular inspections of craft work and quality and ensure installation in per specification.
- Monitor timely delivery of necessary materials and schedule necessary equipment to assure continued productivity.
- Conduct regular safety meetings with craft employees addressing specific work areas and conditions that require attention stressing compliance with company and regulatory safety procedures.
- Coordinate with engineers, client/owner, inspectors, etc. to isolate problems regarding projects mechanical equipment and assists in developing solutions to these problems, as directed by supervision.
- Coordinates work activities and installations with other craft supervision to assure productivity and to eliminate conflicts in the field.
- Prioritize tasks according to job schedule.
DESIRED EDUCATIONAL & CERTIFICATIONS QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in water treatment specific construction.
- Ability to travel up to 100%
- Bilingual – English and Spanish is preferred
- Can read and write as well as read plans
- Job site safety requirements as required by the client
- Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).
Must have current Drivers License and a safe driving record to operate company vehicles.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Need strength to lift heavy materials such as lumber, plywood, and tools.
- Work long hours, standing, kneeling, or crouching for extended periods.
- Good balance and agility are important for moving safely and efficiently.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle tools and materials with precision.
- Must be able to work outdoors year-sound and handle varying weather conditions, particularly the intense heat during the summer in Texas.
