About the Job
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the oldest national civil engineering society in America, is currently seeking an experienced conference manager responsible for overall conference management and the successful implementation and production of assigned conferences and meetings for our Utility Engineering and Surveying Institute (UESI).
Responsibilities include:
- Establishing, implementing, and monitoring overall conference plan & timeline
- Scheduling and coordinating committee meetings and internal staff meetings
- Creating agendas and participating in conference committee meetings
- Developing and monitoring budgets and expenditures
- Reviewing RFPs for venues and vendors
- Analyzing site options and making recommendations for venue contracts
- Providing overall management and coordination of on-site operations
- Managing vendor contracts and ensuring delivery of services and financial performance
- Creating marketing campaigns and designing and generating promotional materials and messaging
- Assisting in planning and coordination of special funding
- Assisting in planning and coordination of exhibitions
- Preparing final conference report
Ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years of conference planning experience
- CMP or similar professional certification preferred
- Demonstrated success managing large conferences
- Association or volunteer management experience
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office and a CRM or AMS database
- Willingness and desire to travel
