About the Job
The Conference Services Manager will manage the daily operations of the Conference Planning function for the Conference Center.
The right individual will effectively plan trainings and meetings from start to finish while keeping the customers and operation in mind by maximizing both revenue and space utilization. The Conference Services Manager will confer with customers and team members in all phases of their meeting/conference to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
1. Must effectively plan and communicate to all departments the expressed need of the customer.
2. Work directly with the Director of Conference Services to ensure all catering options/menus are presented to the customer accurately and effectively.
3. Ensure that all appropriate communication for upcoming business is complete and distributed in a timely manner to the management team.
4. Work with the service staff to see that message handling with administrative support is efficiently handled and placed in the computer based system immediately.
5. Work closely with the Audio Visual team to ensure room set-ups, AV needs, and special requests.
6. Take special events and theme parties at the conference center to a new level, thereby increasing revenue.
7. Assist the General Manager in analyzing all aspects of the conference center operation and report back on any aspect that does not seem to be functioning properly.
8. Engage in educational and team building activities to strengthen personal value and departmental relationships.
9. Maintain accurate data in sales/catering software to update system as business dictates.
10. Complete, distribute and maintain Banquet Event Orders (BEO's) and other operational directives.
11. As frequency dictates, conduct BEO meetings to ensure inter-departmental understanding of and proper execution of each event.
EDUCATION
BS degree preferred but not necessary if employee has related conference services experience.
EXPERIENCE, LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Minimum of 2 years hotel or conference center experience.
Previous hotel Conference Services Manager experience preferred.
Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) designation preferred.
