Job Title: Configuration Manager/Build Release Engineer/Build Engineer
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Position Type: Contract
Interview Process: Face to Face (After Successful Phone Interview)
Rate: DOE (W2/1099/C2C)
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure that the application build process is being consistently followed
• Manage / maintain application builds and troubleshoot when necessary
• Ensure deployments for test environments are done in a timely manner and help debug any issues seen during deployment (i.e. JBOSS, Tomcat, WebLogic, and Apache). Provide debugging analysis on deployment issues to help troubleshoot root causes
• Be able to create and manage tasks to build / deploy applications to remote systems and check in distributions via Hudson and Jenkins
• Be able to create and manage installation and utility scripts for things such as JBOSS and Tomcat deployments, backup, and copy needs
• Verify that development release notes are accurate and can be successfully used to deploy associated modules
• Be able to work in a time sensitive environment that may require overtime and off-hours
Qualifications:
• Be able to handle configuration management for the development group
• Minimum five years for experience in enterprise application installation required
• Have Java Web App / Server programming skills
• Hands on Linux experience
• Shell programming skills (e.g. bash, csh, sh, ksh)
• Hands on networking experience (e.g. TCPIP configuration and troubleshooting)
• Jenkins / Hudson / Archiva experience
• Oracle / DB2 user experience (e.g. basic DB skills … query, alter, insert, update, etc .)
• Experience with source control management systems (e.g. SVN / CVS)
• Ant / Maven experience
• JBOSS experience
• Ability to review and analyze engineering documentation
