About the Job
This position provides support in the Constituent Relations Unit in the Office of the Governor, with a primary focus on assisting with correspondence projects, proclamations, and other documents, working on special projects, providing relief for the Governor's reception desk, other miscellaneous administrative duties.
Example of Duties
• Management of correspondence, including independent composition of correspondence for CR Coordinator and Director and the ability to track correspondence through a correspondence tracking system.
• Communication with constituents from all over Alaska, primarily via phone and email.
• Periodic relief for the reception desk, greeting visitors, and transferring callers to the appropriate staff person for assistance.
• Providing assistance with constituent inquiries and requests.
• Filing, electronic and hardcopy. Document management.
• Assist CR Coordinator/Director with special projects and miscellaneous tasks.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful candidate for this position must have:
• Considerable knowledge of office practices, procedures, organization, and filing systems.
• Strong familiarity of office equipment including scanners, copiers, fax machines, printers, and Windows PC Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
• Writing, composition, and editing skills.
• Good attention to detail and excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation abilities.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent and overlapping tasks.
• A courteous and professional demeanor; customer service experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of working in a confidential environment and ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in evaluating information and understanding the ramifications of actions taken.
• Ability to adapt and function independently and cooperatively in a professional, fast-paced working environment.
• Ability to maintain a high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, and enthusiasm.
• Take initiative in identifying, analyzing and implementing improvements. Support management objectives and strategies with enthusiasm.
