Job Title: Construction Accountant
We are seeking an experienced Construction Accountant to manage and oversee the financial activities of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within the construction industry, excellent analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, cost tracking, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and maintain project cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Monitor and analyze project budgets and expenditures to ensure financial control and accountability.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice verification, coding, and payment processing.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and relevant regulations.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve any financial issues or discrepancies.
- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and support as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- CPA or other relevant certifications are a plus.
