Job Details
The Construction Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of multiple projects. This position requires a deep understanding of construction accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and experience in working with government contracts. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting and support project managers in achieving financial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage project accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for multiple municipal projects.
Prepare and analyze project financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Monitor project costs, identify variances, and provide insights to project managers to enhance profitability.
Collaborate with project teams to develop and maintain project budgets and schedules.
Prepare and submit monthly invoices to clients, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including government entities.
Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
Ensure compliance with all regulations and accounting policies specific to government contracting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 of experience in project accounting within the construction industry, with a focus on municipal and government projects.
Strong knowledge of construction accounting software and systems.
Proficient in project management tools and financial reporting software.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.
Familiarity with government contracting regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.
